What does a rattan basket manufacturer actually do?
A rattan basket manufacturer weaves, finishes, dries and packs baskets in its own workshop, so you buy from the maker instead of a trading house. At Exterio Rattan (PT Exterio Indonesia) that work happens in our factory in Cirebon, West Java, one of Indonesia's main rattan weaving centres. Buying direct means you can specify the weave, size, handles and liners yourself, and you deal with the people who actually make the goods.
Which materials do we use for wicker and rattan baskets?
Our baskets are woven from natural rattan, including Kubu rattan. Kubu Grey is cured in mud ponds to give its soft grey tone (see Kubu Grey mud-pond curing), and natural rattan keeps its warm honey colour. Every piece is kiln-dried to 10% to 12% moisture content before packing, which protects baskets from mould during sea freight (see kiln drying and moisture control). What baskets can you order in bulk?
Our baskets collection includes log baskets, storage troughs, planter bins, market totes, nesting bowls and lidded laundry hampers with liners, plus baskets with handles. Many designs nest inside each other, which lowers your freight cost per unit.
What is the MOQ for bulk wicker baskets?
Our baseline is one 40' High-Cube container, about 68 CBM, and our catalog currently runs from 150 to 300 units per basket model. You can mix several basket models, and even chairs and tables, in the same container as long as each model meets its own unit minimum. How long do samples and production take?
- Samples: about 7 to 10 days.
- Bulk production: for baskets, about 20 to 30 days for one container, confirmed in your quotation after sample approval.
What can be customized?
We can adjust weave gauge, size, finish and stain colour, handles, lids and liners to your specification. How to order wicker baskets in bulk from Indonesia
- Choose your baskets. Browse the baskets collection and add the models you want to your inquiry list, or send us a reference photo or drawing.
- Send your inquiry with quantities, your destination country and any customization. We reply with FOB pricing, usually within 48 hours.
- Approve a sample (about 7 to 10 days).
- Production and inspection (about 20 to 30 days for a container), with kiln drying and a quality check before packing.
- Loading and shipping. Goods are loaded on FOB terms at the Port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta, with nested packing to save container space (container cavity packing).
